| Santa Barbara Municipal Airport is the busiest
commercial service airport on the California coast
between San Jose and Los Angeles and has been
owned and operated by the City since 1941. The mission
of the Airport Department is to provide the community
with facilities necessary for access to the National Air
Transportation System, to provide property management
and maintenance services for the leased
business/industrial facilities on the Airport. |

| Alternative Transportation |
| This program promotes, supports, and develops alternative forms of transportation as directed by the Circulation Element of the General Plan. Through the re-organization of Public Works and use of the transportation policy, the Alternative Transportation program will conceive and initiate projects, develop a process for community input and decision-maker review, and be a liaison to other Public Works Divisions and the Land Development Team. |
