Employment Opportunities

The Lot Operator is an hourlly position 18 to 24 hours a week.  Each operator is allocated 1000 hours per fiscal year.

Applications are available at the Parking Office and City Hall.  Applications are taken on an on-going basis and should be submitted to the parking lot office.  The best applicants are invited for an interview when there is a need for new lot operators.

Lot Operator Pay:
Lot No. 13 located at 209 State St.
Lot Operator III $9.00
Lot Operator IV $9.25
Lot Operator V $9.50
Lot Operator VI $12.25

 

Lot Operator Hours

 

1st Shift Lot Operators:  8:30 AM to 2:45 PM

2nd Shift Lot Operators:
(Monday – Thursday) 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
(Friday & Saturday) 2:30 PM to 8:45 PM
(Sunday) 12:00 Noon to 7:00 PM

3rd Shift Lot Operators:  8:00 PM to Close (Friday & Saturday)
2nd and 3rd Shift Lot Operators are responsible for Sunday operations

 

Examples of Duties:

  1. Receiving tickets from parking patrons
  2. Determining applicable fees, collecting fess, and making change.
  3. Manipulating computer/cash register.
  4. Giving directions
  5. Establishing and maintaining accurate accounting of cash and tickets.
  6. Answering customer questions in a kind and timely manner.
  7. Completing forms in a legible manner.
  8. Responsible for observing parking equipment and making sure equipment is functioning well and making minor repairs as necessary.
  9. Customers service oriented

Availability to work two out of the three weekend days (Fri.-Sun.), and late in the evening (PM operator only) is required.
