Stretch your mind, strengthen your body, and enjoy your spirit. Activities abound at our two conveniently located centers:the Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 East Carrillo Street, (805) 897-2519; and the newly renovated Louise Lowry Davis Recreation Center, 1232 De la Vina Street, (805) 897-2568.

Fitness classes designed for older adults are offered as part of a low-cost membership.  Join the Active Adults Club to take Ralph Holmes’ Stretch and Tone class three days a week and Jazzercise-Lite twice a week. Members also have access to the Carrillo St. Gym for table tennis and weight conditioning.

The landmark Carrillo Recreation Center is an established dance center with professionally-instructed classes in Ballroom, Swing, Tango, Salsa, Country 2-Step, Folk, Belly Dance and more. Most dance classes are offered weeknights in a variety of skill levels.

In addition to dance and fitness, our program offers lawn bowling at two locations, personal enrichment classes, and social programs including foreign language, bridge, crafts, painting, and potlucks.

There are many other recreation opportunities for older adults that are not specifically designed for seniors. Our department has programming in golf, swimming, tennis, basketball, and much more. Call us and we’ll do our best to find activities that fit your interests and needs. We want to be part of your healthy lifestyle.
