MEET OUR STAFF

Rich Hanna, Senior Recreation Supervisor

Lucille T. Boss, Pool Manager
Lucille has worked with the City’s Aquatics section since 2003, when she moved to Santa Barbara from San Diego. Over 7 years Lucille has worked as an Adapted Aquatics Swim Instructor, Pool Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Head Lifeguard, and currently works as a Recreation Coordinator managing the City's swimming pools. Lucille is a Certified Pool Operator and Aquatic Facility Operator, and has been involved in all levels of pool maintenance dating back to her first summer as a Head Lifeguard in 2003. Lucille is at Los Baños Pool lifeguarding, clerking, and managing daily tasks and projects after weekday mornings, so she can speak from personal experience when program, staff, and other pool maintenance issues arise. Lucille can be reached at 966-6110 or LBoss@SantaBarbaraCA.gov

Deane Carr
Deane Carr served as the City's Pool Technician for 10 years, and was a recognizable face around Los Baños pool. He was responsible for the great water quality, clean facilities and behind-the-scenes maintenance that minimized closures. He accepted a position with Cater Water Treatment in June 2009. This position is currently vacant due to budget challenges, so Lucille and Rich, with assistance from lifeguard staff, are working to keep Los Baños running at the same high level. If you have maintenance questions or concerns at any time, please contact Lucille.
