 | Major Construction Projects Map |
| This map contains information about major City projects in Construction throughout the City of Santa Barbara. This map does not include minor utility or private work performed in the City's right-of-way or small short duration city projects. |
|
 | Carrillo Recreation Center Restoration |
| The goal of the project is to complete a comprehensive rehabilitation of the City-designed historic landmark, built in 1913. The scope of work includes tenant improvements, structural upgrades, various ADA accessibility improvements, improvements to mechanical/plumbing/electrical systems, and new fire alarm system, and landscaping. |
|
 | Elings Park Landfill GCCS |
| To ensure the closed landfill remains in compliance with regulations, four gas extraction wells and a thermal oxidizer unit will be installed. The wells and piping will be installed underground between the baseball fields. The piping will deliver gases to a small fenced-in area near the park's westerly parking lot where the thermal oxidizer will safely remove the gases. |
|
 | Fire Station No. 1, Administrative Offices Building |
| The Annex Building office space will be used to house the 40 hour/week Fire staff, and the work will complete the seismic, mechanical, electrical and ADA upgrades to this building. The entire Project is being constructed while the Fire Station remains operational. |
|
 | Mission Creek Fish Passage Phase I |
| The Project construction consists of establishing a maintenance access, demolishing part of the lined flood channel, and constructing a concrete low flow fish passage channel. |
|
 | Ortega Street Bridge Replacement |
| Originally built in 1915, the Ortega Street bridge has been deemed
structurally deficient by the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans). In order to meet current structural and earthquake safety guidelines, the bridge will be replaced with a new, longer structure. |
|
 | Water Main Replacement FY 09-10 |
| The Project will replace approximately 10,500 linear feet of water mains located throughout the City. The water mains slated for replacement have been selected by considering numerous criteria including age, break history, pipe material, water demands, and fire flows. |
|
 | Zone 6 Pavement Preparation |
| The work consists of repairing localized distress on various roads, encompassing streets mainly in Zone 6.
This Zone consists of the primary arterial streets, which carry most of the traffic throughout the City. Included in this project is work on various parking lots within the City. |
