Rental Housing Survey

City staff annually compiles data on rental housing listings in the South Coast area of Santa Barbara County – from Goleta through Carpinteria. Data sources include Craig’s List, the Santa Barbara News Press, and the Santa Barbara Independent. We survey ads for various types of rental housing – unfurnished apartments, houses, condos, duplexes, and rooms/shared housing. Results from this year’s survey can be seen in the tables and charts below.

2. Apartment Rents Chart:  shows historical trend since 1980 of apartment rents, sorted by size (number of bedrooms)
3. Rents for All Housing Types Chart:  shows historical trend since 1995 of rents for all housing types combined, sorted by size (number of bedrooms)
