The City of Santa Barbara’s new Business Assistance Program provides businesses with specific products, free of charge, that help protect water quality. The overall goal of the program is to help businesses comply with changing water quality regulations, and to protect and improve water quality.
Businesses that are currently certified or those that become certified through the Clean Creeks Certified Business Program are eligible for the City Creeks Business Assistance Program. Currently, this includes restaurants, automotive shops, and mobile businesses (power washers and mobile car washers). Eligibility for products depends on the businesses’ demonstrated need for products to meet or maintain a Clean Creeks Certification. If qualified, the business can choose from a list of approved products such as drain covers, containment devices, dikes, and wet vacuums. The City Creeks Division will purchase these products for eligible, certified businesses (up to a maximum of $1000).
