About the Creeks Division

In November 2000, the City of Santa Barbara’s voters approved Measure B, an increase in the transient occupancy tax rate from 10% to 12% with proceeds from the 2% tax increase restricted to use in the Creeks Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Division. In January 2001 the Creeks Division was established as part of the Parks and Recreation Department. A volunteer Creeks Advisory Committee was also created to help guide the Division's projects and programs. In January 2023, the Creeks Division was moved to the City's Sustainability & Resilience Department.
