Dear Fellow Employees,
October marks the beginning of the City’s Annual Charitable Giving Campaign. I hope you will join me in participating in this program to help important non-profit and charitable organizations in our community.
We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the State. We enjoy the benefits of a steady pay check and generous benefit program. But others in our community are not nearly as fortunate. Despite many governmental programs available, many in our community depend on assistance from non governmental agencies to receive critical services. These non- profits provide a myriad of services such as health care, child care, hospice services, literacy programs, senior assistance, and care for disabled children.
Other organizations in our community address areas that enrich our lives. For example, local non-profits provide support to many school and athletic programs, help to protect our environment, fund college scholarships, and care for injured animals. And our many cultural institutions depend on charitable contributions to provide their programs and outreach to students.
We are in a unique leadership position to provide a positive example for others in our community to follow. I hope you will join me in participating in this year’s charitable giving campaign.
Sincerely,

Jim Armstrong, City Administrator
