***NEW SPRING 2010***
SANTA BARBARA YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE (YSL)
Join the spring soccer league and continue to improve you skills, make new friends and have
playing the world’s great sport! Practices and games held from March-June 2010.

          - Boys and Girls Divisions: U6, U8, U10, U12
          - Teams formed from local neighborhoods/schools
          - Uniform provided  and includes team shirt, shorts, and socks
          - Players provide rubber cleats and shin guards
          - Volunteer coaches and referees
          - After school practices
          - 8 regular season games played Saturday mornings at Dwight Murphy Field

Saturday December 5, 2009 from 8am-12noon

WINTER SPORTS PROGRAMS

Boys Basketball League (ages 8-12)-- Introduction to developing fundamental skills. One or two practices weekly after school and one game scheduled each week. Program runs from January-March. $60/66 per player which includes a program shirt.

Girls Basketball League (ages 9-12)-- Introduction to developing fundamental skills. One or two practices weekly after school and one game scheduled each week. Program runs from January-March. $60/66 per player which includes a program shirt.

Little Hoopster Basketball (ages 5-9) Introduction to developing fundamental skills in a highly energetic and fun environment. Two fun filled practices/games each week after school. 8-foot rims, small basketballs and modified rules for maximum fun. Program runs from January-March.

SPRING SPORTS PROGRAMS

Coed T-Ball Clinic (ages 4-5)-
Parents are encouraged (not required) to participate. In a fun, encouraging environment, we will teach hitting, fielding, and base running. At the end of the season your child will feel confident and ready to join the T-Ball League the following year. Registration Deadline: 4/7/2009

Coed T-Ball League (ages 5-7)-
Play Saturday games with your friends. Emphasis is on fun and skill development. No score is kept. One practice and one game per week. Get involved and volunteer to coach your child's team. For more information call 564-5422

Girls Softball League (ages 9-12)—
Learn how to pitch, throw, catch, hit and run bases. Games played on Tuesday or Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30pm on Santa Barbara High School softball fields. Program runs April-June

Soccer ballKidz Love Soccer (ages 2 ½ -12)Kids of all ages learn the world’s most popular sport from professional coaches trained in the “Kidz Love Soccer” method: a session experience that includes age-appropriate activities, skills demonstrations, fun games and instructional scrimmages in a non-competitive, recreational format. Program organized by age groups. All classes held on Saturdays at Dwight Murphy Softball Field. September-November and January-March. Click on link above for specific class information.

Summer T-Ball Clinic (ages 4-6)- We teach hitting, fielding, throwing, catching and base running in a fun, exciting and supportive environment. Each session ends with a scrimmage game. At the end of the clinic your child will feel confident and ready to join the T-Ball league the following year. Parents are encouraged (but not required) to participate.

Successive Saturdays, 9am-10:30am, July 11 thru August 15. Clinic will take place at SBHS Softball Fields.

Summer Coach Pitch Baseball Clinic (ages 7-10) -  We put away the T’s in this FUN baseball clinic. The focus is on fun games while expanding participants love and knowledge of America’s favorite pastime. Hitting a pitched ball, fielding, catching and base running are taught in a fun, non-competitive environment. This clinic is perfect for those past and present T-ball league participants and graduates who are looking to join Pony Little League baseball in the future. Each session ends with a scrimmage game. Participants in the clinic each receive a hat and clinic t-shirt.

Successive Saturdays, 10:45am-12pm, July 11 thru August 15. Clinic will take place at SBHS Softball Fields.
Fee: $90/98(resident)


Beginning T-Softball Clinic (ages 6-8)- In a FUN, EXCITING and SUPPORTIVE environment, we teach hitting (off a T), fielding, throwing, catching and base running softball style. Each session ends with a scrimmage game. At the end of the clinic your child will feel confident and ready to join the softball league the following year. Parents are encouraged (but not required) to participate.

Successive Saturdays, 9am-10:30am, July 11 thru August 15. Clinic will take place at SBHS Softball Fields.
Fee: $66/60(resident)

Intermediate/Advanced Softball Clinic (ages 8-14)- We put away the T’s in this FUN softball clinic. The focus is on fun games while expanding participants love and knowledge of Softball. Hitting a pitched ball, pitching, fielding, catching and base running are taught in a fun non-competitive environment. This clinic is perfect for past and present softball participants and girls looking to try it for the first time. Each session ends with a scrimmage game. Participants in the clinic each receive a hat and clinic t-shirt.

Successive Saturdays, 10:45am-12pm, July 11 thru August 15. Clinic will take place at SBHS Softball Fields.
Fee: $66/60(resident)

Doggone Fun Basic Obedience Camp (ages 9-14)-
This is the only camp where dogs and parents attend camp along with their young human companions. Participants learn obedience training with their canine, exercise with their dog, and learn about dog health and responsible pet ownership. Please bring a leader leash (under10 feet; no retractable leashes), water bowl, copy of vaccination record, and dog treats. Campers should bring a snack, drink and water bottle for themselves. Dogs should be well-behaved around children and other dogs. Dogs must have current vaccinations. Program limited to 12 kids/parents and 12 pooches. What a doggone good time you’ll have! Instructor: Cliff Silber CDT.

Kidz Love Soccer (ages 2 ½ -12)Kids of all ages learn the world’s most popular sport from professional coaches trained in the “Kidz Love Soccer” method: a session experience that includes age-appropriate activities, skills demonstrations, fun games and instructional scrimmages in a non-competitive, recreational format. Coast 2 Coast Soccer Clinic (ages 4-14)- Five-filled days of learning and playing soccer the “Irish Way”. Enthusiastic and experienced Irish coaches will train your child in the FUNdamental soccer skills of passing, dribbling, shooting, ball control and tackling in an encouraging environment. Every player is guaranteed a week of enjoyment and development in the “Beautiful Game”.  Each child will receive a soccer ball and soccer clinic T-shirt.

FALL SPORTS PROGRAMS

3rd /4th Grade Flag Football League: Coed (ages 8-12)-- Practices are conducted after school from September-November at local elementary schools and teams will play games Friday’s at Dwight Murphy Soccer Fields at 4pm and 5pm.

5th / 6th Grade Flag Football League: Coed (ages 8-12)-- Practices are conducted after school from September-November at local elementary schools and teams will play games Friday’s at Dwight Murphy Soccer Fields at 4pm and 5pm.


FREE Junior High Afterschool Sports & Recreation Programs: Contact the Police Activities League (PAL) for more information regarding the Junior Highschool after school sports programs. 962-5560.

YOUTH CAMPS and SPORTS CLINICS
Spring Break Camps: March 29th – April 2nd 2010.

Kidz Love Soccer Camp (ages 2 ½ -12)- Camp focuses on dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting drills for younger players and includes advanced moved and attacking the goal for older players. Each participant receives a soccer ball and spring break camp t-shirt. Participants should bring a full water bottle and a snack.

Volleypop Volleyball Clinic: Ages 8-13- Camp focuses on introduction to volleyball for younger, inexperienced players in a fun, nurturing environment. Each participant receives a spring break camp t-shirt. Participants should bring a full water bottle and a snack.
