 The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law by President Obama on February 17th, 2009. The City of Santa Barbara expects to receive $289,274 in additional funding to be used for projects that emphasize job creation and economic benefit. The department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires the City to make a substantial amendment to its 2008/2009 Action Plan, which outlines the City’s proposed use of CDBG-R funds.

 The City of Santa Barbara and SPARKLE will co-host a fireworks display off of West Beach beginning at 9pm, Saturday, July 4. Fireworks produced by Pyro Spectaculars. Fireworks will be launched from the beach for approximately 22 minutes. All of West Beach is open for free viewing. ADA accessibility information can be found at www.santabarbaraca.gov/July4ADA.
