BulletFront Country Trails Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force
The City of Santa Barbara, County of Santa Barbara, and the Los Padres National Forest share jurisdictional oversight of Santa Barbara’s Front Country Trails (FCT). On-going and newly identified multi-use issues on the FCT continue to be a source of concern for the 3 agencies involved with trail management and trail-users, as well as maintenance, management, planning and governance issues.

BulletSubcommittee on Homelessness and Community Relations
On June 17, 2008, the Santa Barbara City Council established a Council Committee, comprised of three Councilmember, to study a range of issues related to homeless services and neighborhood impacts. This committee will make recommendations, with input from community members, to the Council on strategies to address the identified issues.

BulletInfrastructure Financing Task Force
The Taskforce generally meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 11:45 a.m. at various City sites. The Infrastructure Financing Taskforce was created to review the current capital planning process and recommend steps for improvement.

BulletNoise Abatement Committee
The Santa Barbara Airport Noise Abatement Committee was established in 1978 under the direction of then Airport Director, Patrick R. Murphy. The committee's first meeting was held in January 1979 and included representatives from the Airport Department, the FAA, the Goleta Chamber, the County of Santa Barbara, UCSB, the airlines, the Air Transport Association, the Santa Barbara Pilots' Association and the fixed base operators.

BulletSouth Coast Task Force on Youth Gangs
The South Coast Task Force on Youth Gangs - Leadership Council (formerly the Strategy Planning Committee on Youth Violence) was established in January 2008 in response to City Council direction to improve communication and coordination with other government agencies and non-profit organizations who are engaged with providing services and programming to local at-risk youth.

BulletSustainability Committee
While the City had been considered a leader in environmental issues for many years, the City Council formally created a sustainability program in 2006 to coordinate environmental project efforts in different departments. The Sustainability Council Committee meets monthly to guide environmental initiatives, receive updates on key projects and programs, and make policy recommendations to Council.
