Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
1) The MAPS application does not run with my web browser. What’s wrong?
The application is designed and tested to run on Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (or higher). While the application will work with most other commonly used browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.), using other browsers may cause random issues. Users are encouraged to use IE 7.0 or higher.
2) The MAPS application does not work properly on my Smartphone or Tablet computer. What’s wrong?
The application was developed and tested prior to the release of specialized iOS and Android operating systems. Though the application will load in them, the “touch-screen” functionality utilized in these operating systems is not yet supported by the MAPS application. The developer is currently working to include full functionality for a future release.
3) The application is not working. What can I do?
Try closing your browser and restarting the application.
4) Will this application run on a computer running Mac/OS?
Yes. The application will run in the Mac/OS environment. Please see #1 above for additional details related to browsers.
5) Why do I have to “Accept” the Disclaimer to access the application?
The MAPS service has been provided to allow a visual display of City information. Every reasonable effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the maps and data provided; nevertheless, some information may not be accurate. Users must review, understand, and accept this via the Disclaimer in order to launch the application.
6) What data is represented in the Map?
The information provided is a collection of data from various City sources. Please review the Data Dictionary found in the MAPS homepage for a complete list of data available in the application.
7) I can’t see Montecito or areas of Goleta, why?
The Map coverage consists of areas within the City of Santa Barbara.
