Marina 1 Replacement Project
The majority of Marina 1 was constructed in the 1970s and includes 16 fingers (A-P) providing berths for approximately 500 vessels. Marina 1 was expanded in 1998 adding approximately 100 slips on 3 fingers (Q-S). A recent engineering analysis and staff assessment of Marina 1 concluded that the concrete docking system on A – P fingers is nearing the end of its useful life. The replacement project will replace the main walkway and A –P fingers in 10 phases over the next 10 -12 years.

To solicit input from those most likely affected by the proposed Marina 1 Replacement Project, a questionnaire was prepared and made available to Santa Barbara Harbor stakeholders. The results are available here: Questionnaire Results.

A Marina 1 Harbor Commission Subcommittee meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 16th (Marine Center classroom at 4:00 p.m.). Waterfront staff will summarize 130 questionnaire responses and answer questions about the project.  Please join us to learn more about this important  Waterfront improvement. Your continued input is vital to this process.
