PUBLIC NOTICES
Parade of Lights
The 24th annual Parade of Lights takes place Sunday, December 13th. Festivities begin with a Santa’s Village event at 3:00 p.m. on the City Pier, featuring visits with Santa, 10 tons of snow for children to play in, and a holiday sing-a-long. A tree lighting ceremony on Stearns Wharf kicks off the parade at 5:30 p.m. with the VIP judging party at being held at Coastal Winery. Thousand of spectators will cheer on 30-50 boaters parading to the theme of “Underwater Wonderland.” Councilmember Iya G. Falcone, Harbor Commissioner Bill Spicer, and Santa Barbara Yacht Club Commodore Homer Smith are among this year’s judges. A short fireworks display will follow the parade, followed in turn by an awards ceremony and after-party at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, catered by The Endless Summer bar-café. As always, this promises to be an entertaining family event celebrating the holiday season at the Waterfront.

WELCOME
The Waterfront Department’s mission is to provide the community with a quality Waterfront for recreation and commercial use, along with mooring and landside services for boating. Approximately 252 acres of tidelands and submerged lands is managed by the Department. The area encompasses the Harbor and Stearns Wharf. These lands belong to the State and are held in trust by the City. Different from most City departments, Waterfront is an Enterprise Fund and operates from revenues generated from the lands we manage. Tenant rents, boat fees, parking fees and other sources is put back into improvements and services: preventative maintenance, capital improvement, parking services, staffing, public safety, slipholder and visitor boat services, special events, public education and more.
