Traffic Engineering

The purpose of the Traffic Engineering Division is to effectively manage and improve the transportation network by identifying and developing improvements that are responsive to the needs of all travel modes, so that people can move safely and efficiently throughout the City.

Here is a list of some common issues that Traffic Engineering handles:

• speed survey information

• red curb requests

• traffic counts and street volumes

• commercial loading issues

• road closure approval

• traffic collision analysis

• special event coordination

• signal timing optimization

• road work traffic-control plan review

• traffic control devices and missing signs

• vegetation obstruction complaints

• traffic congestion management

• traffic calming implementation
