Ortega Bridge

The Ortega Street Bridge is Now Open!

The Ortega Street Bridge construction and numerous street improvements were completed a little over one month ahead of schedule.

In addition to reducing the flood risk for the neighborhood, the new bridge has improved pedestrian and vehicle safety.  New sidewalks, road paving, utilities, and on-street landscaping were also installed on the 300 block of West Ortega Street. In the area of the bridge, the project also enhanced Mission Creek with new creek banks, native landscaping, and improved fish habitat.

Come by and see the new bridge and other neighborhood improvement projects on Santa Barbara’s Lower Westside.
