Environmental Services division:

The Environmental Services division consists of two programs:

Environmental Services

·         Comply with State regulations applying to City-owned Underground Storage Tanks (USTs), Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFTs) and Site Mitigation Units (SMUs).

·         Plan, oversee and participate in the quarterly groundwater sampling and reporting for all contaminated sites.

·         Properly manage City Hazardous Waste Disposal.

·         Educate public regarding hazardous substances.

Solid Waste division

·          Provide reliable, cost-effective collection of residential and commercial recyclables, greenwaste and refuse through the city’s franchised haulers, with a primary focus on maximizing diversion of solid waste from landfills.

·         Large venue (waste management plans, implementation).

·         Public education and outreach in regards to recycling and waste reduction.

·         Participate in community events regarding environmental issue.

·         Code enforcement and closed landfill monitoring.

·         Encourage Zero Waste Events throughout the City.

·         Work with the Food Sector to reduce foodscraps.

·          Manage contracts for collection of trash, recycling, and greenwaste.
