Vacancies on these groups occur either through scheduled vacancies (those created by the expiration of a term) or through unscheduled vacancies as a result of resignations during the year.

The Semi-Annual Recruitment is in progress.  Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008.  Applications may be submitted via e-mail to: CityAdvisoryGroupApplications@SantaBarbaraCa.gov, via fax to the City Clerk’s Office at 805-897-2623, via mail to the City Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 1990, Santa Barbara, CA 93102, or hand delivered to the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall at 735 Anacapa Street.

All applicants are required to appear before the City Council for an interview in order to be considered for appointment to a City Advisory Group.  Interviews will be held on Tuesday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 10, 2008, during the afternoon sessions of the City Council meetings at an estimated time of 4:00 p.m., and on June 17, 2008, during the evening session of the City Council meeting which begins at 6:00 p.m.  Applicants of the Franklin Center, Lower Westside Center and Westside Center Advisory Committees will have an additional interview opportunity before the Council Subcommittee on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Westside Community Center, 423 West Victoria Street.

The City Council will make appointments to fill the vacancies on July 1, 2008.
