Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) Funding Amount $1,200,000
The purpose of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program is to provide assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless and to rapidly re-house persons that are already homeless. Assistance can be in the form of financial assistance (such as rent, security and utility deposits, utility payments, moving costs, motel and hotel vouchers) and/or housing relocation and stabilization services (case management, outreach and engagement, housing search and placement, legal services, credit repair) to assist participants with housing stability and/or placement.
The City of Santa Barbara applied for and received $1,200,000. The City will act as the lead, collaborating with Catholic Charities, Transition House, Casa Esparanza, Legal Aide, and Bringing Our Community Home, on projects preventing and re-housing the homeless.
