Overview
The City of Santa Barbara purchases goods and services from suppliers throughout the state and nationwide. We also enter into contracts with a wide variety of businesses and individuals for a broad spectrum of products and services. These purchase orders and agreements are governed by the agency's commitment to quality, cost effectiveness, efficiency and fairness in a competitive arena as well as adherence to applicable statutes, rules and regulations. The integrity of our procurement process is of utmost importance. Construction bids are handled by the Public Works department.

The City of Santa Barbara advertises bid opportunities in The Santa Barbara Daily Sound. The Daily Sound is a free publication, Tuesday through Saturday, with 325 locations from Goleta to Carpinteria. For additional information, email allen@thedailysound.com or call (805) 569-9057. Notice to All Bidders
Please check with the Purchasing Office prior to submitting your bid to obtain and incorporate any addenda that may have been issued. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes, identifying the bid number and project title, to the Purchasing Office before the deadline shown in the bid documents. Formal bids cannot be received by fax or email.
