Since most of those commuters drive alone, that means more greenhouse gas emissions, increased traffic congestion, huge fuel costs, and lots of time wasted behind the wheel. In this half-hour television program, we'll show you that there's an easier way to get to work - be it a bus, carpool, or vanpool.

| Public Library Book Sale |
| | The Public Library will have a one-day sale of old, rare and valuable books on Saturday, May 17, from 10 to 4 in the Townley Room of the Central Library, 40 E. Anapamu St. Fine art books, photography books and rare reference sets, books signed by Carl Sandburg and Willem de Kooning, and other signed and first edition books will be offered, including donated items that are too specialized or valuable to add to the library collection. The Youth Council is an advisory group to the Mayor, City Council and Park and Recreation Commission. The group consists of 17 teens from 14 to 19 years of age.
